Indian Aviation Faces Disruptions Under New Pilot Fatigue Rules
India’s aviation sector experienced widespread flight delays and cancellations following the full enforcement of revised pilot fatigue and FDTL norms. Major carriers, including IndiGo and Air India, revised rosters and reduced flight frequencies to comply with stricter safety regulations. Several airports such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad witnessed passenger congestion as airlines adjusted schedules. DGCA stated that while short-term disruptions were expected, the new rules would significantly enhance flight safety and pilot well-being in the long run.
