Year-End Travel Rush Drives Record Traffic Across Indian Airports
India’s aviation sector witnessed a significant year-end travel surge driven by Christmas–New Year holidays, weddings, and international leisure travel. Airlines such as IndiGo, Air India, Akasa Air, and Vistara operated additional flights and night schedules to manage peak demand. Major airports including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Goa handled some of the highest passenger volumes of the year. Despite congestion during peak hours, airlines and airports maintained operational stability through better planning, slot management, and coordination with air traffic control.
