Extended Diversion Time Operations (EDTO)
- 02 Days

The EDTO (Extended Diversion Time Operations) course is designed to provide in-depth knowledge of long-range flight operations conducted beyond the normal diversion time from suitable alternate airports. This training explains the regulatory framework, operational planning, and safety considerations required for operating twin-engine and multi-engine aircraft on extended routes. The course focuses on real airline operational practices and international aviation standards, making it suitable for pilots, flight dispatchers, and aviation professionals involved in long-haul and oceanic operations.
Course Overview
This EDTO (Extended Diversion Time Operations) training is designed to demonstrate how extended-range flights are planned and operated in real airline environments. Participants will be shown how airlines conduct risk assessments, apply operational decision-making, and manage abnormal or emergency situations during extended diversion operations.
During the program, we will show how EDTO routes are identified, how diversion times and Equal Time Points (ETP) are calculated, and how suitable EDTO alternate airports are selected based on regulatory and operational requirements.
The training will also cover practical fuel planning for EDTO operations, including critical fuel scenarios, weather evaluation, wind impact, and aircraft performance considerations.
The course emphasizes practical demonstration and real-world operational logic to help participants clearly understand how EDTO is applied in long-haul and oceanic flight operations.
Requirements
- 10+2 / Graduation (Preferred)
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Age Group -18-27 Years
Certification
◉ Certification (or award, credential, license, diploma, degree, etc.) follows the process of assessment and is a record that the individual’s competency has been validated.
◉The certificate is usually issued by an Awarding Body, which has public trust and competence; conferring official recognition of an individual’s value in education, the labor market, and training.
